Five new Partners at Bernoni Grant Thornton

The new appointments increase the number of partners of the international consultancy network’s Italian member firm to 32. The entry of 3 new women professionals significantly increases the number of female partners.

Milan, 15 January 2025 – With the beginning of the new year, Bernoni Grant Thornton, Italian member firm of the international consultancy network Grant Thornton Ltd, strengthens its team of professionals by appointing five new Associate Partners: Carlotta Benedet, Debora Peroni, Fabrizio Garofoli, Gian Piero Chieppa, and Gigliola Pirotta.

The total number of partners at Bernoni Grant Thornton increases to 32 and the firm further strengthens and continues its growth focussing on specialized areas, with the aim of supporting the development strategy of and improve its service offer towards the Italian mid-market. Moreover, the appointment of three new female partners reflects the firm’s attention to gender policies, which have always been the focus of the firm’s sustainable business model, aimed at enhancing the presence of women in the top management to favour an increasingly more inclusive working environment.

Carlotta Benedet

Certified Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor, Carlotta received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from Università degli Studi di Parma and in 2009 she specialised cum laude in Business Management and Administration at the same university. From October 2010 to February 2011 Carlotta attended a “Master course for professional training” organised in collaboration with the Milan Board of certified chartered accountants. In May 2016 she attended a “Master in wealth planning” organised by “Sole 24 Ore Business School”. From February 2010 to September 2013 worked as a trainee-chartered accountant at two major tax and law firms in Milan and Piacenza. From October 2019 to December 2020, she was also was also leading the Italian Business Group at Grant Thornton LLP in New York. She is registered with the Roll of Chartered Accountants in Milan and in the Roll of Registered Auditors. She joined Bernoni Grant Thornton in October 2013, where she currently works as Associate Partner within the Private Client Services team. 

Debora Peroni

Debora received her Degree in IT engineering specializing in telecommunications from Università degli Studi di Pavia in 1993 and then attended numerous training courses at both Seat Corporate University and Google in Amsterdam. Over her carrier, she collaborated with many companies, including Itatel Sit, Athena 2000, and Matrix S.p.A as Team Leader and Web Program Manager, specializing in transformation of companies’ main business activities from industrial to digital ones. Her main roles include the following: in March 2023 she worked as CMO at Withub S.p.A; up to November 2021, she worked as Marketing manager at Editoriale Nazionale s.r.l. and Monrif.net s.r.l (in the latter, from 2017); in 2014, she worked as a consultant at the start-up incubator Digital Magics and from February of the same year she was Product development manager at Seat Pagine Gialle; from May 2014 to March 2015 she worked as a consultant for Italian editors at CLX Europe. In June 2023 she became Counsel of Grant Thornton Digital, and she now works in Bernoni Grant Thornton as Associate Partner.

Fabrizio Garofoli

Certified Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor with a fifteen-years’ experience in corporate consultancy for companies in crisis, Fabrizio received his degree in Economic Sciences from Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi. In 1994, he obtained master's degree in International Tax Law at the IBFD International Tax Academy and attended two specialization courses, one on arbitration at Università degli Studi di Milano, and the Insolvency Procedures and Corporate Recovery at the ODCEC School of Higher Education in Milan. He is registered in the Roll of Chartered Accountants in Milan, in the Roll of Registered Auditors, and in the Register of Technical Consultants of the Court of Milan. He is also registered in the list of experts of the Negotiated Settlement of Business Crisis and a member of the Business crisis commission at the Roll of chartered accountants in Milan. He is a Lecturer and speaker at conferences and courses mainly on business crisis management and publicist in qualified sector magazines. In June 2023, he joined Bernoni Grant Thornton as Head of Insolvency, and he currently works here as Associate Partner.

Gian Piero Chieppa

Lawyer specialized in corporate criminal law, received his degree in Law in 1988 from Università degli studi di Torino and specialized in criminal law. From January to October 2014, he attended a Master in tax law at Università degli Studi di Torino. In 2018, he attended a specialization course on personal data protection law for Data Protection Officers at the same university and in 2024, he attended a specialization course on administrative liability of entities at Unione delle Camere Penali Italiane. From October 1990 to April 2003, he worked as a lawyer at Professor Ivo Caraccioli’s legal firm in Turin and in May of the same year he joined a firm of associated lawyers, where he worked until November 2015, when he founded his own legal firm. He is a member of the supervisory board of EFG Bank Monaco, a member of the board of directors of Fondazione Giovanni e Annamaria Cottino, and a member of the supervisory board of National Molding Italia. He has also been an independent member of the board of directors of Bernoni Grant Thornton, where he currently works as Associate Partner.

Gigliola Pirotta

Lawyer with a thirty-years’ experience in corporate consultancy on labour law, Gigliola received his degree in Law from Università Statale di Milano in 1992. She started working as a trainee lawyer at an international law firm and then specialized in labour law, collaborating with major firms in Milan. She has a vast experience in assisting domestic and multinational companies with labour law and dealing with labour disputes. In particular, she assisted leading national advertising and communication companies, companies operating in the chemical and plastic industry, commercial companies, IRCCS, as well as multinational companies in the commercial, electrification, photographic, and food & beverage industries. She is a member of AGI – Italian Employment Lawyers Association, and a member of the innovation commission of the Milan Bar association. In 2022 she became responsible for the labour law practice of Bernoni Grant Thornton, where she currently works as Associate Partner.
