Good Energy Award 2017: prize-giving on 21 September

The Good Energy Award 2017 has been launched.

The Good Energy Award, promoted by Bernoni Grant Thornton, is the first Italian award aimed at rewarding energy saving and efficiency projects and policies adopted by Italian companies.

It is now at its 8th edition and the prize-giving ceremony will take place in Milan on 21 September 2017.

In this year’s edition, the special Aerospace category has been introduced for the first time, besides the Agricultural and food, Industrial sector, and Services sector categories.

Unlike previous editions, there is greater focus on the combination of energy efficiency and saving this year. Introducing the Aerospace category was the best way to represent this double focus: in this sector, energy efficiency is pushed at its highest levels and some of the discoveries made have then turned to be useful also in daily life.

The Award is realised with the support of prestigious sponsors, such as Bosch and Coop Lombardia, and the scientific support of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, ANDAF (the Italian association of CFOs), CNR, FIPER (Italian federation for the production of energy from renewable sources), IDM Sudtirol, Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili di Milano (Board of Chartered Accountants of Milan), Trentino Sviluppo, Università di Milano and Università di Trento.

The independent Jury of the Award – chaired by Maurizio Fauri, professor of Sistemi Elettrici per l'Energia at Università di Trento and President of Polo per l’Energia, i.e. the Technological Center for Energy of Trento – will identify and select the finalists basing on the following criteria: commitment demonstrated, resources and technologies used, economic returns, value for the territory, for the community and for stakeholders, as well as research of an increasingly higher energy efficiency.

Such elements will be evaluated according to economic, financial, technical, and environmental parameters, as well as according to the relationship with the territory where the company operates.

Applications for the Award (which are free and voluntary) must be sent by 30 June 2017, by filling in the proper form.

For further information, please refer to the full regulation of the Award.

As in previous years, we trust that many applications will be sent, showing that it is possible to reach good results by adopting green policies even in a difficult moment and despite sometimes inconsistent regulations in this sector.

We believe that energy efficiency policies go beyond preceptive measures. Adopting sustainable policies leads, in the medium term, to a more sustainable and more profitable business, having lower impacts on the surrounding environment.
